Did Abhishek Bachchan Walk Out Of Jp Dutta's Paltan To Star In Bachchan Singh?
Rumours around abhishek bachchan‘s next have been going on for quite some time now. While fans can kill to see their favourite actor in the fourth installment of the Dhoom series, it is far from reality right now. But his fans can rejoice now, as it has been confirmed that the actor has been roped in to play the titular role in the fantasy comedy, Bachchan Singh. It will be directed by master of comedy Priyadarshan (Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala). Now that is a terrific combo- Priyadarshan with Abhishek. The actor had recently walked out of JP Dutta’s Paltan. Though reasons for the same are not concrete yet, but speculations are rife that it was so that he can assign his dates to Bahcchan Singh.
This won’t be the first time that Abhishek’s surname will make it to the title of a film. He has earlier starred in the hit Rohit Shetty comedy Bol Bachchan. In fact his character’s alter ego was called Abhishek Bachchan in the film. While the audience loved that rendition of Bachchan, let us see how this one fares at the box office. Bachchan Singh will be produced by Rawail Grandsons and Kanz Films.
As per previous reports, Abhishek will be seen playing a corrupt police officer who develops supernatural powers in the story. Wow! Talking about the film Priyadarshan had told DNA in April 2017, “We start shooting for the film from November this year. The film has been written by Rumi Jaffrey and produced by Rajat Rawail. It’s a fantasy fiction film, humorous, something along the lines of Mr India and The Mask.” He also divulged some details about the film, “Before the interval, Abhishek plays a corrupt cop and then turns a saviour of sorts with powers. He has the power of clapping to get what he wants but he realises it later. It’s my first masala film. While we have tentatively called it Bachchan Singh, we may change the name later.”
