spyder's pre-release event was as fab as the audio launch.

The spyder craze seems to have bitten the Telugu film industry crazily. The film has become so big that a pre-release event was held in Hyderabad today which saw hordes of fans thronging it. But what was more special was the presence of Mahesh Babu with his entire family. So there was his wife Namrata Shirodkar, his son Gautham and daughter Sitara. While the actor seemed very interested in what was going on the stage, his family was having a gala time among themselves. At one point, his daughter sat on Rakul Preet’s lap and had some really chilled out conversation with her. The images from the event are going viral and we have got a few of them for you.

But before we begin showing you the pictures, let us tell you that Spyder is one of the most anticipated films of this year. It releases on September 27 and is Mahesh Babu’s most expensive film. He revealed at the audio launch event that it is a Rs 120 crore film which they have put their heart and soul into. The film has already garnered 600 screens in the US, which might help it recover its investments. The trailer looks pretty sleek although it isn’t anything out of the ordinary. However, his fans are damn psyched about the film and thus a pre-release event of such nature was held today in Hyderabad. Check out the pictures from the event right here…

The audio launch of ace filmmaker AR Murugadoss and Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's action thriller Spyder was held on 1 September at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai. This film marks Mahesh Babu's debut in Tamil films, and the air of excitement created by the presence of his ardent fans at the venue was palpable.

Jointly produced by NVR Cinema LLP and Tagore Madhu, Spyder has been made as an authentic bi-lingual in Tamil and Telugu. The movie features Rakul Preet as the female lead and actor-director SJ Suryah in the role of an antagonist for the first time in his career. RJ Balaji plays a pivotal role in the film, and the music has been composed by Harris Jayaraj.

"I feel like a newcomer again"

"Even after being in the film industry for 18 years, today, I feel like a newcomer again," says Mahesh Babu. "I feel so excited and nervous at the same time. It's all new to me. To shell out Rs 120 crores for a movie is no joke; it needs guts and passion. I thank my producers Prasad sir and Madhu sir for making Spyder possible," said Mahesh Babu.

"I haven't made many movies with Harris Jayaraj, but I like his music. Very rarely do we experience extraordinary background music in films, and Harris is a composer who delivers excellent scores," said Mahesh.

"Spyder was challenging because it is a bilingual"

"Spyder is a very intense film, and it was challenging too. It will be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller. To shoot every scene in both Tamil and Telugu was a grueling task. So, unless the team is confident, it is difficult to pull off a movie like this. I would like to thank the entire direction department and the production team for making this happen. It was an amazing, entirely fresh experience to shoot for a bi-lingual," said Mahesh Babu.

He also showered lavish praise on National Award-winning stunt director Peter Hein for the enormous effort he put in to stage the climax sequence of the film. "It was challenging to shoot the stunt sequences in this movie. Peter Hein master spent 20 days on the climax portion. He extensively worked on the recce to identify the right location. He's devoted his life to this film," said the actor.

Mahesh Babu said that his decision to foray into the Tamil film industry wasn't a planned one. "Genuinely speaking, it wasn't planned. God has given me a huge market in Andhra Pradesh with an extensive fan base. It's enough for this entire lifetime. An additional market for a film made on a whopping budget of Rs 120 crores would be helpful. I'm glad it has happened."

"Mahesh's dedication reminded me of Aamir Khan" - Murugadoss

AR Murugadoss said that shooting a bi-lingual was an incredibly taxing experience and confessed that it took a toll on him. He also assured audiences that Spyder was treated as a proper bi-lingual. "We even shot some silent scenes twice to ensure some details were accurate. It was only because of Mahesh Babu's immense patience that we've pulled off this project. The movie will definitely be a blockbuster," said Murugadoss.

Murugadoss also appreciated Mahesh Babu for always being ready to walk the extra mile to enhance the quality of the project. "We had night shoots for 80 days at a stretch. But never once did he frown at the changing shooting schedule. When the film was nearing completion, he told me that he could give extra dates if needed. When I was working with Aamir Khan for Ghajini, he uttered the same words. I received the same dedication from Mahesh Babu," he said.

"Mahesh and Murugadoss are a great combination" - Rakul Preet

Rakul Preet said she was floored by Mahesh Babu's dedication on sets. "Working with AR Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu was incredible. I couldn't have asked for a better combo. It was an amazing experience. Mahesh Babu is a star who always stays grounded. His dedication motivated me during the shoots. He's a family man, and I really admire him for it. It was great working with him."

The trailer of the film will be released on 15 September during the grand pre-release event at Shilpakala Vedika auditorium in Hyderabad. Spyder is all set to hit screens worldwide on 27 September, during the five-day Dussehra weekend. The movie will be released by Rajinikanth's 2.0 makers Lyca Productions in Tamil Nadu, and Reliance Entertainment in North India.

Well, now the wait is to see how the film performs at the box office.
