We are eagerly waiting for Farhan Akhtar’s film Lucknow Central. The backbone of the movie is a band formed by jail inmates, so we are sure expecting the music to be as good as it gets. The songs released so far have left us impressed, including Rangdaari, which dropped today. Rangdaari as a song, is no less than a poem.
We see Farhan try to impress Diana Penty in the music video of Rangdaari. Their love story has that innocence that the Indian audience totally loves. The ensemble of musical instruments like tabla, guitar and others creates a soulful rendition. Arjunna Harjaie, whose work has gone unnoticed so far, is sure going to find his place on the map with his beautiful composition of Rangdaari. And what beautiful lyrics guys! “Kabhi lage dushman si, kabhi lage dhadkan si”! Marvellous! Kumaar has delivered a great product yet again. The lyrics explore the depths of romance.And of course Arijit Singh lends the vocals and makes you feel as if love is in the air, once again.
Farhan Akhtar plays the role of Kishen Mohan Girhotra, an aspiring singer, whose life is turned upside down after he is wrongly accused of a murder. He forms a music band inside the jail, and hatches a jail break plan. His team-mates include Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq and Punjabi star Gippy Grewal. Ronit Roy plays a warden in the movie.
Lucknow Central is all set to hit the theatres on September 15, 2017.
