Rahul Bose's directorial venture 'Poorna' is capturing everyone's attention for its inspiring content. The actor-director has made a heart touching movie on how a poor, uneducated Adivasi girl from the flatlands of Telangana shattered all these barriers to summit Everest.
The makers held screenings of 'Poorna', for the who's who of the B-Town and have been receiving an amazing response across quarters. A special screening was also hosted for the Honorable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The makers also organised a screening for the Indian cricket team in Pune. The movie received an overwhelming response from Anil Kumble, Virat Kohli, to Sanjay Bangar, R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Umesh Yadav, Abhinav Mukund, Karun Nair, K L Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha, R Shridhar, Patrick Farhat, Anil Patel, Ravinder Jadeja and Jayant Yadav. They loved the film and were very motivated by the content and performances.
Few reactions from the screenings:
Vidya Balan - 'Poorna' is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. I cried and was inspired at the same time! Great performances!
Zoya Akhtar - I didn't know this little girl existed and now that I know her, things will never be the same again. 'Poorna' is so inspiring - an absolute must watch.
Vishal Bharadwaj - 'Poorna' is a remarkable story, extremely well told. Emotionally moving and thrilling at the same time. You are rooting for the young girl throughout the film to achieve her goal of conquering Everest. Rahul and team have put together a wonderfully special film.
Shabana Azmi - 'Poorna' moves you, inspires you, makes you cry, and finally makes you proud of this little girl's achievement. I would gladly see it a second time! 'It's a superb performance - totally in the skin of the role. Easily one of Rahul's best!
Vipul Shah - 'Poorna' is emotionally moving and thrilling at the same time. It's got great performances and technical polish!
Atul Kasbekar - 'Poorna' is a special film about a very special and massively inspiring young girl. The story of the youngest ever to climb Everest; at 13. That's incredible!
Anand Gandhi - Rahul Bose sees the young achiever of his hope inspiring biopic, in the same light as her mentor perhaps did - as simultaneously fragile and fierce, her aspiration a necessity, her will urgent and invulnerable. Rahul's portrait of Poorna is warm, intimate and patient. He has directed his young actor Aditi Inamdar to render one of the finest performances of the year.
Shashi Tharoor - It's an inspiring film. It tells the story of the youngest girl to climb Mt. Everest. True story! With, of course, for cinematic purposes some changes What it's done it seems to me is to actually evoke rather brilliantly the triumphs, the hopes, the fears that accompany such an amazing achievement.
Nikkhil Advani - It's inspiring, it's wonderful. Tell your children to watch this film, tell all the school children to watch this film and this is the kind of cinema that we should be making. This is the kind of cinema that children of
this country should be watching.
Gul Panag - I think it's so inspiring and makes you realize that the power of one small thought has such immense potential to achieve so much and I think Rahul has really taken every viewer on an emotional roller coaster. I'm just overwhelmed. I don't think I've been touched so much by a film in a very-very long time. I'm not sure whether I love Rahul more or I love Poorna more but watching this film just inspired me so much and it just makes you realize that we need a hundred Poornas to inspire all the girls out there.
