Force 2 box office collection day 1: John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer has got positive reviews from the audience.

John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Force 2 started on a low note with film witnessing around 15-20% occupancy in theatres on the first day. The film was released on 1800 screens. A sequel to 2011 Force, the film is expected to collect Rs 5 crore on the first day. Force 2 has got positive reviews from the audience. The positive word of mouth can help the film get a decent weekend collection. Another thing that can benefit the film is its patriotism angle.

Both John and Sonakshi are doing some high-octane action sequences. But will demonetisation have an impact on film’s box office collection? When asked if they were prepared to incur losses due to the entire issue of demonetisation, John said — without naming Rock On 2 — that Force 2 is more massy and will appeal to a larger audience. He feels after struggling with the currency crunch, Force 2 will give the audience a break and help them de-stress, because the film just slips through two-and-a-half hours due to its pace and amazing action.
Distributor Akshaye Rathi also seems to be hopeful. “The #DeMonetisation impact on movies is a failed theory suddenly! Watch the collections of #Force2 & you’ll know what I mean!,” Akshaye Rathi shared on Twitter.
He also wrote,” Between last week & now, people haven’t got a lot of money all of a sudden! Good content works! Bad content doesn’t! Period! #Force2.”

Directed by Abhinay Deo, Force 2 is an action thriller. The film also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin. John is playing ACP Yashvardhan and Sonakshi Sinha will be seen as a RAW agent.

Force 2 may incur losses, but it is a small price to pay for the nation, says Force 2 team

Demonetisation of high currency notes and the resultant cash crunch is likely to hit the box office collection of the just-released Force 2, its producer Vipul Shah has said.

The ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, announced on November 8, has led to severe shortage of valid notes among people, who are queueing up before banks and ATMs in large numbers to exchange the now defunct bills for new ones.

“There might be some loss. It’s been 10 days… and people are facing this problem and I think Indians want to come out of this (problem) and get themselves entertained. We hope to contribute towards reducing the stress of people
through our film,” Vipul told reporters here last night at a promotional event of Force 2.

“Even Bookmyshow and Paytm (e-wallet) are looking to help people,” he said. Force 2 stars John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha supported the demonetisation drive, saying it is a great step forward to prevent corruption and curb black money. Force 2 is an important film for India. In clean (white) India, this is the first legitimate film. It’s a game-changing film. This is the first film that is releasing after the demonetisation move (announced on Nov 8). People want some relief and so they can come and watch Force 2,” John said.

The Madras Cafe actor called the demonetisation measure “fantastic”. Sonakshi said, “We should support this (move) as there will be lesser cases of corruption and black money.”

Helmed by Abhinay Deo, the second installment of action film Force released yesterday and is apparently getting a good response from the audience.

“We would want to make Force 3 but there is no script ready with us. Force is the biggest action franchise that we have today. After the release of Force 2, we will think and decide about Force 3,” John said.
