Seems like when it comes to period films and playing princesses, Deepika Padukone is the first choice. Just as she is set to play Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, the actress has reportedly been approached for the role of Sanghamithra in Sundar C's grand historical by the same name. To be shot in a span of two years and in three languages - Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, the big budget film will also feature two A-listers from Tamil films.
Sanghamithra is Emperor Ashoka's eldest daughter, who joined an order of Buddhist monks and went to Sri Lanka to spread the teachings of Buddha.
