It is rare when a film launches its third song in a row and you fall in love with each and every one of them. Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil revealed its third song and its video, Channa Mereya. If Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s title track introduced us to complicated love lives of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, the film’s second track Bulleya
The third, Channa Mereya, is all Ranbir and Anushka. It is heartbreaking, it is that unbearable pain when your friendship turns into love but not that of the one you love. As Ranbir says in the song, “Ek tarfa pyaar ki taqat hi kuch aur hoti hai. Auron ki rishton ki tarah ye do logo mei nahi batta, sirf mera haq hai ispe.”
Channa Mereya is yet another earworm from ADHM and it has been
beautifully picturised. The scene is Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh
getting married. Dressed in sumptuous gold and red, Anushka is a picture
to behold. Ranbir Kapoor, dressed in finery too, slowly unravels as the
song progresses. The woman he loves is getting married, but it may not
to him. While we will know more as the film releases on October 28, as
of now this may become the heartbreak song of choice.“Love is a magical addiction and a feeling beyond your control. My latest release, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is one such love saga that I hope the viewers will enjoy,”the actor has said about the film.
